The Last Frontier Boutique Resort is amidst Kinabatangan Forest Reserve and Wildlife Sanctuary which is by far the most fascinating of natural protected area in Sabah, Borneo. Visiting this area can be the most amazing experience for any nature lover.

We are the only lodging in the entire area and along a 560km Kinabatangan River to be situated on top of a hill, from an approximate altitude of 89.45meters (293.47feet) above the sea level, the view from our lodge is simply breathtaking and spectacular as what we had been complimented, especially from our “Monkey Cup Café”.

The only access to the lodge is by walking up a 250meter long staircase, which is made up by a total of 538 steps (remember to count them on your way up!) leading through the lush frontier forest or more commonly known as primary forest,  and over calm streams. By building these steps, we are able to preserve the forest on its own undulating terrain, and protect the natural habitat where the rarest wildlife of the entire South East Asia can be found, especially for those endangered Orang Utans, Proboscis Monkeys, Hornbills and Pygmy Elephants.
